Fungus...

After only 9 hours cooking in the lab, Gavin's cultures are growing yeast. Normally, fungus takes a long time, sometimes up to 48 hours, to grow out, meaning a growth after 9 hours means a strong infection. The plan is to pull the line and replace it with a new line at the same time. This is a huge risk for reinfection of the new line but Gavin cannot be managed without central access.

Our little boy is looking so sick -- please pray he can just fall asleep and stay deep in his dreams until he is feeling better. We didn't get up to out room until 5am so we are both just so incredibly tired.
Thanks for you prayers!

I am so sorry. My Dad always told me that a sinner's prayers are always answered...so I'll pray all day!!! I hope he sleeps...no coffee for you if he does! Let me know if I can do anything or bring anything to you.

One thing I have noticed during this never-ending blog-is how quick you are to pounce or judge someone who happens to irritate at any given moment. Yes, I agree you have an extremely full plate--BUT YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! So, how about extending some of that grace you are blessed to have been given. And know that so many of us are praying for you, Adam, Madi and little Gavin.

Karen: I am so sorry he just can't kick this crud in the rear! I pray his body rids itself of it and his new line is all clear! Hug and kiss the sweet baby for me!

I read your blog regularly to check up and see how Gavin is doing. I found your blog through Gavin Leong's blog b/c I was on the same message board when his mother and I were pregnant. I just want you to know that I often think of you all and since I'm not the praying type, I will certainly be thinking lots of positive thoughts for you all. Wishing Gavin will feel better and get the rest that he needs.
