More Prayers Needed...

Our biggest fear with this surgery was the risk of Gavin becoming septic as a result of disturbing his bowels -- it has happened. His fever spiked over 104 and we are having a tough time getting his pain under control. We have increased the coverage of both anti fungals and antibiotics and we are awaiting blood cultures.

The other issue if the fluid. He has large amounts of fluid on either side of his abdomen and we are still needing to bolus him more due to his rising lactic acid levels.

To be very honest -- we are both very scared right now. I'm not so sure I was prepared for the post op period. He looks so terrible, the sickest I've ever seen him. Please pray that they can get his pain under control.

I am praying for your little boy. I will continue to lift him up before the Lord. I am sorry that you all have to go through this. I have been following your blog for a long time even though I don't know you and have prayed for him many times. May God give you peace that passes understanding. God bless little Gavie and help him to feel better- amen!

Oh, and I forgot to mention I found you from Confessions of a CF Husband, Nate's Photography Blog a long time ago. I suffer from Cystic Fibrosis also and have spent many, many hours in the hospital myself. Although no one understands anyones situation exactly, I feel as if I understand a little.... so my prayers are extra diligent and heartfelt. I will continue to pray everyday!!!

Even though we have never met and don't know one another, I found your blog through a link from Gavin Leong's page and have followed your blog ever since. You guys are amazing and your children are gorgeous and brave little souls.

I'm praying for Gavin and all of your family. Please Lord give Gavin comfort and a swift and thorough recovery and please give his family the courage, comfort and strength to get through this tough time as best as they possibly can.

I read of precious Gavin on Trav's website- and your family was SO heavy on my heart yesterday, even though I didn't know there was surgery going on. Be encouraged by that, that the Holy SPirit is bringing you to minds, Gavin is so dearly loved, and your whole family is resting on the Mercy Seat. Glory to the King will come through this little warrior named Gavin-
