Thursday Evening Update...

Febuary Dupont 011

** This photo is prior to surgery -- sorry for the confusion.

I think we may have made some progress today --- do you hear my sigh of relief? Although Gavin continues to be in very intense pain we did manage to break his fever with the toradol, which provided him with some relief. The toradol only lasted a short time but at least it gave Gavin -- and us a break. The ultrasound of his belly look pretty good. There was not as much fluid as thought but there was some concern about the thickness of this abdominal wall. His one side has a large section of edema, so we need to keep a close eye on that.

The photo above was the day of surgery -- doesn't he look great? I was thinking that I just needed to look back to help me look towards the future. This will end, Gavin will get through this.

Lets pray for a nice quiet evening here in PICU room 17.

If my daughter Abigail saw his pants she would just have a fit! She is going through a 'skull and crossbones' phase...she's turning 10 on Monday. So glad to hear that things are looking good. Still praying...

Thanks so much for the update - I'm so thankful to hear things seem to be looking up. Every time I hold my own two year old boy(who is a real fireball) & hear his little giggle & feel his sweet sticky kisses, I send up another prayer that you'll have all these and more with Gavin.

I think he looks good in the video, his stomach looks beautiful without all the scars that would be there from an open procedure. You may come to love the button, usually people do and then wonder why they liked the peg? He looks good, hope his pain is eased soon and this brings what he needs to be around for a long long time. So glad he's here to show us that gorgeous smile of his again hopefully soon. Eileen
