Hello Disney...

threecastle

Ahhh. We made it. Yesterday we headed to the ER around 7am for Gavin's final chest xray before we left for the airport. The xray looked great and we headed off to start our vacation. Things is the airport went smoothly and both kids did great, in fact Gavin slept the entire flight!

Give Kids The World literally took our breath away. The service we have been shown here is so amazing -- anything we want on need is just a spoken word away. Our villa is beautiful and includes a full kitchen two bedroom and two baths, one of which has a massive Jacuzzi tub!

Today was attempted to make the trip to Magic Kingdom -- it was great for the first hour but then the rain fell, and it fell hard and didn't stop all day. Gavin was able to ride his first ride ever -- in his wheelchair! My heart melted as I watched him ride Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride -- just like every other kid -- simply amazing.

The weather this week is not looking good but we are trying to stay positive and remember that this can still be an amazing vacation despite the rain!

Yay! I can't quite visualize Cinderella with flat hair! You guys have a blast and ride those rides, see the sights, splash in some puddles and just live out loud. I am so glad Travis asked us to link here to pray for Gavin a few months back. This MIRACLE makes my heart want to sing...

So exciting!!!! I am so glad you guys made it to Disney!!! Welcome to Florida!!! I know it is so hot and rainy this week, enjoy the little rain breaks and take that time to "soak" it all in!!! haha
If you all have transportation, try to go to the disney village, there is a Lego Land there and you can wheel Gavin right up to play with the Legos. There are all kinds of things to do there. Have a ball!!! Tell Mickey Mouse Evan says hello and will be there one day soon too!

Aaaahh, rain. Welcome to Florida! Don't let it discourage you. Most of the time it comes and goes faster than you can make new plans anyway. I agree with the poncho idea. And there are tons of indoor things to have fun with as well. Enjoy your family vacation time!!!!

Yeah..Dinsey!!! I pray you all have an absolutely WONDERFUL time, despite the weather. I googled the forecast for Orlando and I almost had to laugh--1 to 2 INCHES of rain for today?? Sending all the "go away rain" prayers and thoughts I can muster! Hopefully this "system" will move away faster than predicted. God bless you guy.
P.S. I LOVE the pic where Madi has her hands clenched together in absolute restrained excitement. That's what it's all about! :)

I am so happy you guys finally made it to Florida. I know we have been having lousy weather but hopefully it will get nice soon for you guys to enjoy the Florida sunshine. I came across your blog by chance and now enjoy reading about Gavin daily. He is truly a very loved little guy, as is his entire family. Be safe!!
