Grateful...

-1-2

When I look back over the past three years it is almost overwhelming just how blessed our family has been.  People -- you -- from all over, have chosen to not only pray for our family but many of you have blessed us financially, with a new house and lots of other amazing things.

For this we are forever grateful.

I'm not sure if I have ever taken the time to just thank you.  I am sitting here is a new house made just for my little boy and our family, simply amazing.  Yesterday a new swing set was delivered for my little girl, simply amazing.  I look out onto our brand new deck complete with grill, simply amazing.  The list could go on and on, and it's not just the material things we are thankful for.

-2-1

Do you know how many families go through the journey of chronic and terminal illness alone?  There are so many.  If you were to walk through the hospital halls you can probably pick out the people doing "this" on their own -- just by looking into their eyes.  Adam and I are forever grateful for each and every one of you -- those who spent time begging God to save our little boy and those who spent countless hours making "Gavin's House" a reality.

We are so blessed.

We are so grateful.

It is us that should thank you, for letting all of us strangers into your life and sharing your little boy with us.

I love to come and visit and feel I am sitting with you listening to your heart. Thank you for your willingness to be open and share your most precious feelings. Your family is a treasure and will continue to be used by the Lord for His purposes! I feel honored that I fell upon your site in time to learn of your sweet boy while he left his foot print here on earth.

I wanted to ask you a question and didn't see an e-mail address... would you mind e-mailing me at hislittleambs@msn.com. Many Thanks and you continue to be in our hearts and prayers.

It is we that are grateful for the reminder that life is precious and should not be taken for granted...
The reminder that it feels good to give without expecting anything in return - to feel the joy of Christian love. Gavin, Madi, you and Adam have all given us so much that a new home, swingset, deck, babylegs, etc. are NOTHING in comparison.

Continued prayers and love,
Joy

Yes, you have said "thank you" many times before. We are blessed to be a part of going to the throne of grace on your behalf and the many other children/families and will continue to do so. God never wastes anything we go through so I'm sure He will/is using all of this.

You seem to be a truly amazing family, and over the past week I have read your blog back to front. It gives us who are not in your shoes strength just by reading it. I would also like to say that you have two of the most beautiful children in the world!

I thank you, Karen, for opening your heart to us so that we may know your sweet Gavin. I always looked forward to any news you wanted to share. Through your words many people came to love Gavin, your family and God. You are truly a testament to what God can do. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers to heal One Day at a Time. I'm so glad God has blessed you with a beautiful home. Jesus loves you and so do I!

Thank you for inviting all of us into your life.
You are more than welcome for all the support. I only wish that "Gavin's house" would have come along sooner so that he could have lived there.
I grew up next to that house. I am sure that the Schmoyer's are looking down smiling at what has been done with the house. I only hope that you can have as many happy memories in that house as they did.

Karen, Your blog is amazing. Thank you for sharing your family's story and your beautiful boy with us.
I just submitted an order of 4 babylegs, to ship direct to your PO Box. It is a wonderful campaign and I hope you reach your goal!

It sure has been a privilege to share each day we had with your Gavin. He has changed all of us in so many ways. Look we dont even know each other but yet we reach out to help each other. Your little boy has taught us all what life is really about. While my son was off fighting in Iraq my only concern was for him to come home. Then I relized this is not in my hands only god knows what will happen. He has plans for my son and I can not change that. We can beg, pled and what ever. it will not change the outcome. We have to learn to enjoy ever day, hour, moment we have with our loved one. For only in a instance and they can be gone. I love to look at the pictures of your children. They are amazing. Just look in those eyes and see the love. God brought you to this he will bring you thru it.

WSe love you and miss you Gavin XXOO
