Berks VNA was not a good fit for us, but Caring Hospice could not have been better. I can not imagine the decisions you are making. I have worked in Hospice for over 10 years as a social worker,though I do not work in peds. As a social worker I would imagine that they should facilitate your way of being out and about. Hospice is about living out your life comfortably, making the most of the time you have. The experiences and stories she had were incredible. As a young girl I&#39;d go with her and meet many of her patients and families, they were always thankful for the program and tremendously happy to have their loved one with them at home at all times. I hope it works out for you if that&#39;s what you decide. I also think it would be tremendously helpful for Madison too since I even remember two young girls being so happy and at peace when their grandfather passed. My dad had Hospice, and he still went places but it was amazing the support that I and my siblings got after my father passed away. It would really help Madison if you choose to do it because they really talk to the family members and make sure they are dealing with the lose properly and call just to chat after the fact.
